Ron was first licensed in 1980 as KA7JXO in Cheyenne, WY.   He moved to Colorado Springs in 1984 and upgraded to Advanced (KC7QJ) and Extra (NKØP).  He has been an ARRL member since 1980 and a member of Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association since 1984. Ron has held a variety of positions in PPRAA including President, VP, Newsletter Editor, Hamfest Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer over the years. He enjoys QRP, home brew projects and rebuilding old tube radio equipment.

Ron's duties as part of the Colorado Section Cabinet are to provide assistance to Affiliated Clubs and act as a resource for club officials to call upon to assist in helping them to be better organizations for both the community and their members.
