John has been active in radio since 1980 and is a Life Member of the ARRL.  He has been on the board of the Colorado Council of Amateur Radio Clubs as Vice Chair since 2001 and is currently its Chairman since 2009.  He is a founding member of and also on the board of Rocky Mountain Ham Radio since 1993 and has been a member of the HamCon Colorado’s Organizing committee and currently a member of District 22 ARES. 

John worked for Capitol Cities/ABC Broadcasting from 1987-1989 as a transmitter engineer, designed and built cellular telephone sites, switches and microwave paths for AT&T Corporation from 1989-1998 and was the National Director of Tower Operations for American Tower Corporation from 1998-2002 when he formed and operated a wireless internet company now known as Skybeam developing high speed internet services to the home and business. 

John’s skills and focus in the commercial and Amateur communications industries are quickly becoming a requirement for many amateur radio deployments.  His 22 years of experience in design, engineering and implementation of high quality communications systems are an asset to the Colorado Amateur Radio community.

In his role as Asst. Section Manager for Technology, John will keep the Section Manager and Cabinet members informed about the broad spectrum of technological solutions Hams can bring to bear to meet the needs of the Amateur Community as well as those served by Amateur Radio.
